Brittany ViolaMy eating disorder was the first area the Lord really worked in my life.
I accepted the Lord into my life when I went to Remuda Ranch in Arizona for an eating disorder at age 18. Halfway through my stay, a lady there asked me if I wanted to be free from my eating disorder, then asked me if I had asked God into my life. I prayed and received Christ right there. I remember being really excited afterward and not knowing why.
When I went home, I fell back into the routine of life, still struggling with my eating disorder. I soon started summer school at the University of Miami, and life got more difficult as I made that transition into balancing the student-athlete lifestyle.
After my freshman year, one of my teammates took me in and started taking me to church after I turned her down about 15 times. I have been attending church there ever since then. A friend opened the Bible with me, and we read through John. She was such an encourager, and I started attending a Bible study and really growing. I started learning that there was so much more to this relationship with God than I could imagine.
Over the years the struggle with my eating began to lessen. Having the truth of God with me helped me press forward, and I definitely credit it all to the Lord. It was His truth that replaced the lies that overtook me.

I realize my diving is His gift, and I have all these opportunities because of Him.
The Lord definitely inspires me. He is the reason why I am diving. God showed me that it wasn’t mine, and now I realize that only by His power within me can I reach a level I won’t be able to reach on my own. I’ve been focusing on performing only for Him.
